Globally popular TV show, HBO's Game of Thrones has set some of its most memorable scenes in Split and its vicinity. Become a part of magic world of Westeros while visiting sites where Daenery Stormborne, Arya Stark, Greyworm, Missandei and others once walked.
Tour begins in the Diocletian's Palace, with its substructures which dubbed as a dungeon where Kaleesi kept her precious dragons. This unique environment also served as the set for some of the fiercest battles of Game of Thrones season 5. From the substructures we will continue to the set of the Kill the Masters scene, when slaves of Meereen set free to follow Daenerys in her quest. Throughout the Palace you will also see a numerous spots which served as the set. On our way you will also hear the story of Roman Emperor Diocletian, his Palace and how Split was born, so similar to some of the stories included in the Game of Thrones
Next, we will see Klis fortress, to follow Kaleesi's steps in conquering Meereen. This medieval fort was the set for some of the most memorable scenes from seasons four and five, including mass execution of slave masters. Klis served for centuries as the last defence of Split against conquerors. Sounds familiar?
Little trip from Meereen to Braavos comes with the visit of Kastel Gomilica, where Arya Stark found her refuge. This medieval fortress and nunery looks almost exactly the same like it looked in the Game of Thrones.
Afterwards, visit deserted quarry in the village Zrnovnica, only minutes from Split, to reminiscent Daario Naharis' fight against the Champion of Meereen. Last, but not least, visit the nearby river Zrnovnica and try to imagine what was it like when Missandei bathed and spotted Greyworm for the first night in one of the most beautiful scenes ever shown in the Game of Thrones.
Dinner with local specialties (not included in the price) can be arranged in the centuries old, and still active water mill next to the set. This is only available with advance booking, depending on mill's occupation.
