Day 1: Phnom Penh Arrival (D)

Pickup from the airport and transfer to the hotel check in. Start with a visit of the Royal Palace where His Majesty, the King of Cambodia, and the royal families live.  Continue to Silver Pagoda, which now houses cultural treasures such as a large golden Buddha encrusted with over 2000 diamonds. Finally, a visit of Wat Phnom Temple built in 1373, one of the most famous pagodas in Phnom Penh.

Day 2: Phnom Penh (B/L)

Breakfast at hotel, then a visit of the Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21 prison). This former school was used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces. More than 17,000 people held at S-21 were taken to the extermination camp at Choeng Ek to be executed. We will visit these “Killing Fields” of Choeng Ek (15 km south of Phnom Penh).  Afterwards is a visit of the Russian Market (Toul Tumpong Market), which has a reputation for cheap clothing, a large selection of Buddha images and woodcarvings, and several exotic products. End the day with a Sunset Cruise on the Tonle Sap and Mekong Rivers in Phnom Penh.

Day 3: Phnom Penh – Siem Reap (B) by local bus or by flight to Siem Reap

Breakfast at the hotel – Transfer to Siem Reap with 2 options:

1. By flight takes 45 mintues

2. By local bus takes 6 hours

Upon arrival, pick up escort for hotel check in. Afternoon visit to Wat Thmey or Killing Field, contains a special glass-walled stupa containing the bones of victims of the Khmer Rouge. After that, visit to Wat Memorial Mountain.

Day 4: Siem Reap (B/L)

Breakfast at hotel, then we’ll go to Angkor Thom, where you’ll see the South Gate of Angkor Thom and Bayon Temple.  Built from the end of the 1100s into the 1200s and commissioned by King Jayavarman VII, this temple consists of several impressive structures, such as the Royal Enclosure, the Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.  Afterwards is a visit Ta Prohm, within the jungle.  The last of our visits today will take us to famous Angkor Wat, one of the largest temples in the world; it covers an area of 200 hectares, and its surrounding moat and an exterior wall measure almost 1500 square meters. In the evening when we return to Siem Reap, we will take the Tuk Tuk (the most common taxi in Cambodia) to cruise around town and partake in a blessing ceremony by Buddhist monks for happiness, prosperity and safety on your travels.

Day 5: Siem Reap (B/L)

Visit of Banteay Srei, constructed towards the end of the 10th century by a Brahmin counselor under powerking Rajendarvarman. Its name roughly translates to “citadel of the woman,” but it is a modern name, likely in reference to the delicate beauty of the carvings. We’ll also stop at Pre Rub, constructed in late 10th century and dedicated to Hindu gods. Lunch at local restaurant and in the afternoon, we’ll set out for Angkor Thom, where you’ll see the South Gate of Angkor Thom and Bayon Temple.
