Day
Arrive in

Day 1 - Arrival

You will be be picked up at Kotoka International Airport in Accra from where you will be driven to your accommodation. Later in the afternoon after lunch at you hotel, you will visit the Independence Square. We will later head off to Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum.

Day 2 - Accra

Your first stop will be Fort James, which was built around the late 19th century by the Portuguese. The colonial rule established a large number of buildings and structures around the city and they can still be seen. Some of these are in ruins, some still accessible.

 

We will also make our way to the Ussher fort, which has a great historical importance.

 

Walking through the city, you will go through the High Street Accra. This street is the heart of all the commercial activities in Jamestown. You can take a stroll and even check your bargaining skills in the area if you would want to. 

Day 3 - Volta Lake Boat Cruise

After breakfast, we depart for a boat cruise in lake Volta, the largest man made lake in the world. There will be a live music band which will be playing sweet symphonies all the while. You will have your lunch on board.

Day 4 - Ada Beach

We head off to a scenic road drive to the villages on the lower parts of the Volta Lake. We will visit the village of Azizanya.

 

We will spend the rest of the day doing canoeing and boat cruises on the beach side and rest after this amazing day.

Day 5 - Cape Coast and Elmina

We will drive towards the Gold Coast, where the castle is situated.

 

This castle has a  very unique history. This castle was originally built for trading purposes until it was converted into a slave castle by European traders. This castle was later rebuilt by the British in the 18th century. This site was also rebuilt again in the 20th century by the Ghanaian government. This is also known as Castle and Dungeon.

Also, in the castle's end which faces the Atlantic Ocean is the Gate of no return. This is the last stop of the castle.

 

The Elmina castle was erected by the Portuguese in 1482. Slowly and gradually, this castle started to wear off due to natural reasons and the Ghana Government took the task of its renovation in 1990s. Renovation is still under process. You can anyways enter the castle and have a look at the Portuguese architecture techniques and civil engineering.

 

We will also visit the splendid beaches of Ghana in the end. You will end your day safari relaxing at the beach looking at the endless water body that is in front of you.

Day 6 - Kakum National Park, Posuban

Next we will also visit Kakum National Park, which is located in the central region of Ghana. This is home to all those who have an extreme love for nature. This park is mostly undisturbed and the most famous national park in the area.

 

Post lunch, we will visit the Posuban Military Shrine, where the Asafo Tribes are there. These are very artistic shrines and demonstrate another aspect of Ghana's life.

Day 7 and 8 - Basua Beach Resort

Upon arrival, we will spend he days at the resort and we will enjoy the beautiful beach views and activities.

Day 9 - Accra

Return to Accra around noon and you can choose to rest for the day or indulge in some street shopping and eating. The food in Accra is delicious and the markets are filled with craft items.

Day 1 - Arrival
