9:30 am                      In the Footsteps of the Lamed Hey – From Har Tuv to Kibbutz

Netiv HaLamed Hey

At 11pm on the night of January 15, 1948, a convoy of 38 Jewish fighters, set out on foot to bring desperately-needed supplies to the besieged Gush Etzion kibbutzim.  They never made it.  The convoy was discovered and attacked by Arabs in the surrounding villages, and every member of the convoy was killed.  Partially by vehicle, partially by foot, we will follow the first part of their route and learn their story.

2:00 pm                      Tel Azeka: The Showdown between David and Goliath

                                   We will stand in the place where David fought Goliath as we recount the

story and discuss how David’s success shaped the course of history.

 

3:00 pm                      Khirbet Midras: Exploring the Bar Kochba Caves

Learn about the Bar Kochba Revolt (132-135 CE) and crawl through some of the caves where the Jews of the land hid, lived, and fought during the revolt.

6:00 pm                      Arrive Back in Jerusalem
