Arrive in

DAY 01: Fly into Bhutan
• Altitude: 2,320 meters
• Distance: 48 km
• Estimated driving time from Paro-Thimphu : 1 hours

Morning flight into Paro, Bhutan. On this flight, you can see breathtaking views of the Great Himalayas. Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be welcomed to the Kingdom by your guide. Lunch will be served in Paro. Altitude: 2,280 meters
Today after well rest we will drive to Paro. Visit to the National Museum, housed in the Ta Dzong (watchtower). Here an intriguing collection of artifacts provide a wonderful introduction to the rich culture and heritage of the Kingdom.
Walk down to Paro Dzong, a fine example of Bhutanese historic architecture. After lunch we will visit the 7th Century Kyichu Lhakhang (Temple). Later drive to Thimphu. The drive from Paro to Thimphu is spectacularly scenic. Magnificent monasteries and stupas in the valleys and mountaintops. Check into the Hotel.

In the evening the Group will be taken to one of the 1st and the oldest traditional store in the Kingdom and you will be gifted Bhutanese traditional dress. Gho (Robe), Tego (Inner tunic), Kabney (scarf) and Kara (belt) for men and Kira (skirt), Tego(Jacket) and Rachu (scarf) for women. 
Overnight Thimphu at Hotel located in the center of town.

DAY 02: Thimphu (Full day sightseeing)
Full day of sightseeing. Some of the highlights of Thimphu include:
• Change money at the Bhutan National Bank or at Local Authorized money changer.
• Visit Memorial Chorten to honor memory of Late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, popularly known as the Father of Modern Bhutan. A multi-storied stupa that will introduce you to the vitality of Tantric Buddhism.
• Purchase world’s most beautiful postage stamps.
• Visit the Arts and crafts school and the Traditional Medicine Institute.
• Observe traditional paper making from Daphnia and Edgeworthia.
• Visit Takin rehabilitation center where one can see Yak and Takin, the National wild animal of Bhutan.
• Drive up to viewpoint and take a hike beyond to see the clear picture of Thimphu Valley.
• Visit Changangkha Lhakhang and offer your respect to the important temple of the valley.
• Visit the weekly Thimphu market.
• Downtown Thimphu on foot visiting Handicrafts Emporium and other Arts & Crafts stores. Buy stunning kiras which can be used and bed covers or wall decoration, jewelry’s and many more. Overnight Thimphu.

Day 03: Thimphu -Punakha -Wangduephodrang
• Altitude: 1,300 meters
• Distance: 71 km
• Estimated driving time: 2 1/2 hrs
After breakfast, travel to Punakha through Dochula Pass (3,088m/10,130ft). If you have a clear sky, the view of the Himalayan Mountain ranges is spectacular and you can even see the Gasa Dzong as a white dot in the horizon. Visit the beautiful 108 chortens built on the hill by Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo for the security and well being of His Majesty the King of Bhutan.
Travel onto Punakha, the old capital of Bhutan and presently the winter residence of the central monk body. Visit the Punakha Dzong, located on the island of the Pho - Chu (male) river and the Mochu (female) river.
Evening, walk through the Metshina Village and take a 20-minute walk through the rice fields to the Devine Madman’s Monastery-Chhimi Lhakhang, famously known for its fertility shrine, where one can receive a special fertility blessing .Overnight at a hotel in Wangdue/Punakha.

Day 04: Khamsum Yuella Temple Hike and Punakha River rafting
After breakfast we will visit the Punakha Dzong: Built in 1637, the dzong continues to be winter home for the Clergy, headed by the Chief Abbott,the Je Khenpo.The stunning example of Bhutanese Architecture. Later we visit to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten: Built by the third Queen Mother Ashi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck is a splendid example of Bhutanese architecture, 
After lunch we will begin our 1-2 hours White river rafting Adventure.Punakha River offers the perfect opportunity for a little adrenalin rush whilst in Bhutan. More than a river trip, one will have the chance to embrace the culture and history of Bhutan and encounter the peaceful, fun-loving citizens as you journey down the Paro Chu, Mo Chu not to mention the amazing backdrop of Punakha Dzong. The Class iii is a good introduction to whitewater with some fun intermediate rapids and spectacular scenery. Start your trip with a leisurely two-hour hike up to the Put in at Samdenkha.
In the evening medicinal stone bath and dinner at a farm house.

Day 05: Punakha – Trongsa
• Altitude: 2,650 meters
• Distance: 142 km
• Estimated driving time: 6 hours.

Today we will travel to Trongsa Valley.Trongsa valley used to be the seat of power of the Wangchuck dynasty before it became rulers of Bhutan in 1907. Traditionally the King of Bhutan first becomes the Trongsa Penlop (governor) before being named Crown Prince and eventually King. 
We will drive over the Pele La pass (3,420m) on the Black Mountain range, which divide western and central Bhutan. White langur monkeys can often be spotted in the moss-draped forests in this area. Further on, in silent isolation surrounded by great forested hills is beautiful Chendibji Chorten built in the 18th Century to commemorate the subjugation of a local demon. It is built in a style unusual for Bhutan, with painted eyes facing the four directions. The imposing Trongsa Dzong can be viewed across a deep canyon to signal your approach to the town around a curving road. Overnight at your hotel in Trongsa.

Day 06: Trongsa-Bumthang valley. 
• Altitude: 2,650 meters
• Distance: 68kms
• Estimated driving time: 3 hrs

Morning: Visit the Trongsa Dzong and the Watch Tower. The Trongsa Dzong was the ancestral home of the ruling dynasty. It is also the district administration office of the Trongsa district. It was built in 1648 A.D. The landscape around Trongsa is spectacular, and for miles on end the Dzong seems to tease you so that you wonder if you will ever reach it. Backing on to the mountain and built on several levels, the Dzong fits narrowly on a spur that sticks out into the gorge of the Mangde River and overlooks the routes south and west. The view from the Dzong extends for many kilometers and in former times nothing could escape the vigilance of its watchmen. 
After sightseeing at Trongsa dzong we will proceed to the Ta-Dzong, an ancient Watch Tower of the Trongsa Dzong is located on top of a steep hill about 1 km beyond the Trongsa Dzong. It has now been converted into the museum dedicated to the monarchs of the kingdom of Bhutan and was inaugurated on December 10th 2008. The museum, which has been designed and rebuilt under the supervision of professional architects and restorers from Austria, is a state-of-the-art monument. 
The museum tour will take 2 hours. Later lunch at the hotel and leave for Bumthang. Drive beyond the beautiful Yutung La Pass (3400m) The Journey takes about 3 hrs (68kms.) and is over one of the most scenically beautiful routes in Bhutan. Check in at the Guest house in Bumthang.

Day 07: Bumthang valley Sightseeing.
Today we will visit the 7th century Jampa Lhakhang.Jampa Lhakhang is one of the oldest temple in Bhutan. We can meditate for while in this ancient and powerful temple. 
Later we will go to Guru Rimpoche’s Kurje lhakhang and offer our prayers (Kurje means “Bodily Imprint”, on the rocky cliff of the temple one can see the Bodily imprint of Guru Rimpoche where he meditated in the 7th century. 
Short hike to Tamshing Lhakhang after crossing the suspension bridge. This temple is also known as Tamshing Lhendrup Chholing (Temple of the Good Message) founded in 1501 by Pemalingpa and containing interesting and ancient Buddhist wall paintings.
Visit the famous Swiss cheese and Red Panda beer outlet or factory.
Optional: Visit to the MebarTsho (Burning Lake).Spent a relaxing evening in a beautiful resort.

Day 08: Bumthang - Phobjikha:
• Altitude: 2,900 meters
• Distance: 188 km
• Estimated driving time: 7 hrs
After breakfast visit the historical Jakar Dzong. It is probably one of the biggest Dzongs in Bhutan with the surrounding walls about 1 km in circumference. We will now drive to Phobjikha. Phobjikha- is a bowl-shape valley on the western slopes of Black Mountain. Optional: After lunch or in Morning visit Gantey Goenpa – This monastery is a major attraction with an old monastery date back to the 16 century. Later walk around the valley which is also the winter home to the rare black-necked cranes, which migrate, from remote parts of Tibet, China and Siberia during winter to this valley. Overnight will be at hotel.

Day 09 : Phobjikha-Thimphu
• Altitude:2900 meters
• Distance: 135 km
• Estimated driving time: 6 hrs
Morning visit Gangtey Goenpa while the monks will be sitting for their morning prayers. This is biggest Nyingma temple of the kingdom then travel back to Paro. We will have breakfast at Punakha or at Dochula. Overnight at Paro Tigers Nest.

Day 10 : A Day Hike to Paro Taktsang Monastery.
Tshog offering, private Prayers and meditation at Taktsang.
After breakfast, drive up to the base camp of Taktsang and then hike up to the most famous Monastery in the entire kingdom of Bhutan perched on the edge of a steep cliff, about 900 meters above Paro Valley. The hike to the viewpoint will take about an hour and it will take 2 hours to the monastery. Lunch at the view point or at Paro town. 
Later in the evening we will have a farewell dinner together and a private farewell and cultural dance program.The 1 hour dancers program will showcase Traditional dances from different parts of the country and also popular Buddhist mask dances will be performed. Overnight at a hotel in Paro. 

Day 11: Departure from Paro

After breakfast visit the historical Jakar Dzong. It is probably one of the biggest Dzongs in Bhutan with the surrounding walls about 1 km in circumference. We will now drive to Phobjikha. Phobjikha- is a bowl-shape valley on the western slopes of Black Mountain. Optional: After lunch or in Morning visit Gantey Goenpa – This monastery is a major attraction with an old monastery date back to the 16 century. Later walk around the valley which is also the winter home to the rare black-necked cranes, which migrate, from remote parts of Tibet, China and Siberia during winter to this valley. Overnight will be at hotel.

Day 09 : Phobjikha-Thimphu

• Estimated driving time: 6 hrs
Morning visit Gangtey Goenpa while the monks will be sitting for their morning prayers. This is biggest Nyingma temple of the kingdom then travel back to Paro. We will have breakfast at Punakha or at Dochula. Overnight at Paro Tigers Nest.

Day 10 : A Day Hike to Paro Taktsang Monastery.

After breakfast, drive up to the base camp of Taktsang and then hike up to the most famous Monastery in the entire kingdom of Bhutan perched on the edge of a steep cliff, about 900 meters above Paro Valley. The hike to the viewpoint will take about an hour and it will take 2 hours to the monastery. Lunch at the view point or at Paro town. 
Later in the evening we will have a farewell dinner together and a private farewell and cultural dance program.The 1 hour dancers program will showcase Traditional dances from different parts of the country and also popular Buddhist mask dances will be performed. Overnight at a hotel in Paro. 

Day 11: Departure from Paro
In the morning after breakfast, your tour guide from Yelha Bhutan Tours & Travels (local Bhutan travel agent) will escort you to Paro International Airport for your departure.
