Museum Het Valkof
Nijmegen is the oldest city in the Netherlands. It was established by the Romans in the 1st century BC. In 98 Nijmegen received Roman city rights and in 104 Emperor Trajan renamed the town, which became known as Ulpia Noviomagus Batavorum, Noviomagus (Nijmegen) for short.
I'll show you around Roman Nijmegen on this two-hour walking tour. You will see historical remnants such as Roman roads, a floor heating system and construction materials. We can also visit the foundations of the amphitheatre and the sites of the roman camps. We can also go to the Valkhof Museum, which features the best collection of Roman antiquities in the country.
