Theme: For children, Culture/Tradition
From the pirate's tales up to the literary novels, Paquetá Island is notable for its beautiful landscapes which in the past, were adored by the Portuguese nobility.
From the French occupation in the sixteenth century to the imperial opulence of the nineteenth century, Paquetá has preserved its charm that has made it be called as the "Love Island" by many. Our ride will take about 70 minutes sea crossing through Guanabara Bay.
The starting point of our transition is Praça XV, the main port of Rio de Janeiro colonial time, which today is full of centennial buildings rich with history. The symbolism continues with the sea, the old barge moving away slowly & leaving behind the city fully exposed.
As this is a private tour, I will do what I can to ensure the itinerary as flexible as possible; however, due to weather conditions, construction and/or unexpected events, certain stops may be replaced with other sites.
After pick-up from your hotel, we go to the closest metro station to head into the downtown area. On our way to the ferry terminal, we will have a short walking tour of the historic center that can include optional visits.
After, we will board the ferry to cross Guanabara Bay to reach the island (NOTE: The ferry ride takes about 1 hr 45 mins EACH WAY). After touring the island, we take the ferry back.
