Theme: Landmarks, For children, Culture/Tradition
We begin with the most emblematic visit: Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor). Constructed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Brazilian Independence in 1922, it was recently dubbed one of the "New Seven Wonders of the Contemporary World". We will get to the summit of Corcovado Mountain via train that traverses the Tijuca Forest.
After our visit, we'll go to the Botanical Garden - established in 1808 by the Portuguese King D. Joao VI. It is widely considered one of the world's most beautiful botanical gardens. We will finish up by visiting the recently opened museum "Casa Daros" that has exhibits of the best of contemporary art from Latin America.
