This visit will introduce to you to the history of France during the XVII and XVIII centuries. During this era France was at its height as the French kings were the strongest of the European monarchs. I will teach you about the Sun-King Louis the XIV and the guillotined queen Marie-Antoinette, you will hear the tales of the absolute monarchy and French Revolution, and explore the Hall of Mirrors and French Gardens. After having seen the palace with the breath-taking Hall of Mirrors and marvellous King’s Grand Apartments and we will walk a little around the most attractive parts of the Versailles gardens.
Versailles is about 20 km west of Paris, a short journery on the suburb train RER. After the tour feel free to remain in Versailles to see the rest of the royal domain by yourself.
Not included: Admission tickets to the Palace – 13 €
Tickets to the Gardens on the day of the fountains show – 7.5 € per person.
