Crystal Cave is located, within the Inland Blue Hole National Park. Crystal Cave is karst limestone cave which has been formed by water erosion. The unique things that make Crystal Cave one of the best dry cave is the countless formations and with crystalline quartz throughout the cave’s floor and walls.
Crystal Cave is an all-day tour which starts as early as 7:00 AM and returns to town around 5:00 PM. Drive time to the Inland Blue Hole National Park is about 1.5 hour from San Ignacio Town. The drive takes us on the George Price Highway and Hummingbird Highway just after Belmopan City, the nation’s capital city. Our adventure begins with a 45 minute hike from the parking lot to the entrance of the cave. The hike take us through secondary highland broad-leaf vegetation with a dense canopy that provides an excellent amount of shade. The terrain is mountainous, 25 minutes is spend on low trail. The cave provides caverns with a little bit of everything when it comes to caving walking, crawling, sliding and climbing.
