Additional Information

A typical tour will start at the Atomium, Brussels' main land mark which was constructed in 1958 to celebrate the Universal Exhibition Expo 58. The Atomium is situated on the Heysel plateau where Belgian monarchy lives. We won't only see the Palace of Laken, where king Filip, queen Mathilde and their four children live, but we will also drive past the Royal Greenhouses, the Chinese Pavilion and the Japanese Tower, all reminiscent of the second Belgian King Leopold II.

Next we discover Brussels Uptown with the Cathedral, the Royal Palace, the Belgian Parliament building, The Fine Arts Musuem, the Sablon district and the 19th century Palace of Justice. The European Union buildings are situtated in the Eastern Part of Brussels. We see the Berlaymont Building (Europen Commission), the Consilium of Building of the Council of the European Union and also the European Parliament which is situated at Luxembourg square.

Further East lies the Jubilee Park with the Triumphal Arch and three museums: the Military Museum, Auto World and the Museum of Art and History.

The Old Town can only visited on foot: we walk through the Galleries Saint-Hubert, a covered commercial passage dating back to 1847 and the narrow Butchers' street full of restaurants. After paying a respectful visit to Manneken Pis, the historical statue of a peeing boy, we finish of at the Grand Place where we are dazzled by the 102 meter high spire of the Town Hall and the gold leave decorated guild houses.
