The bike tour will discover the beautiful historical sites and eclectic buildings of Budapest with Gabor, who has been guiding tours for many years around and outside Budapest. Your will go home with fantastic memories of Budapest after cycling through all the touristy and non-touristy parts. Perhaps this tour will also prompt you to discover other cities on two wheels in the future. The tour will depart from Deák tér (Deak Square) and the first leg will head to the Gresham Palace, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the St. Stephen’s Basilica, and Liberty Square, all with grandiose buildings to look at and vivid history to hear about from your guide. Then the cycle route will take you to Heroes’ Square via the Andrassy Avenue, which is part of the World Heritage since 2002. Other notable spots on this way include the Opera House and the House of Terror which commemorates the two main oppressive regimes in Hungary, Fascism and Communism. Then the tour will head to the Castle District, the oldest part of Budapest to explore the Matthias Church, the Fishermen’s Bastion, the Alexander Palace and the Royal Palace. You will need to take some time here to take photos of Budapest as you overlook the Danube and its bridges across the city.
