Description

The 2,5- hour walking tour around the historical centre of Vitebsk starts in Millennium Square and ends in Victory Square. The tourists will learn the history of our ancient town, will see the  canonical Orthodox church of XII century, a few other churches of various architectural styles, the Town Hall. They  will see the  Art Centre of Marc Chagall, the former Governor's Palace and learn about the famous people who stayed there. From the Assumption Hill  they will enjoy the view of the town and the two rivers on which it stands. They will visit the neighbourhood where Marc Chagall lived and  will see his Memorial House, will feel the atmoshpere  of the International Arts Festival "The Slavic Bazaar" in the Summer Amphitheatre.  In Victory Square and the War Memorial  the tourists will learn about the tragedy of Vitebsk during  WW II and appreciate into what beautiful town it was reborn after the war.
