Day 1
Arrive in Windhoek

Distance: 40 km

Approximate travel time: 30 min

Arriving at Hosea Kutako international airport you will be met by me and transferred to your hotel. Depending on you, we could opt for going out for dinner or having dinner at our accommodation. This evening we will have a briefing about the whole tour in detail.

Day 2
Arrive in Sesriem

Distance: 320 km

Approximate travel time: 4h30

Accommodation: Sesriem Campsite

After breakfast we depart for the oldest desert in the world. Our accommodation is about 62km from Sossusvlei. We arrive at Sesriem camp and settle in around lunch time. This afternoon is free for you to either relax and take in the desert or possibly a helicopter flight over the desert! In the evening we enjoy our first meal under the magical evening showcase of stars. 

Day 3
Arrive in Sossusvlei

Distance: 62 km

Approximate travel time: 1h30

Accommodation: Sesriem Campsite

It is important today that we get up well before dawn and head to Sossusvlei  for our day excursion. An hour before sunrise we head into the Namib Naukluft National Park and stop of at dune 45 in case you have the courage to go all the way to the top for great photographic opportunities. Breakfast is served here and then we make our way to the Dead Vlei and Sossusvlei parking lot. From here we go on a 4x4 vehicle in to the dead vlei itself. After our visit and while it is still fairly cool we head to sesriem canyon and then make our way back to our campsite.

Day 4
Arrive in Swakopmund

Distance: 285km

Approximate travel time: 5h00

Today we travel through some amazing landscapes en route to Swakopmund and stop at the tropic of Capricorn as well as some other great view points through the Namib Naukluft National Park. We arrive in Walvis bay around lunch time and time permitting view the flamingos that are found near Walvis bay arriving at our destination mid-afternoon.

Day 5
Arrive in Swakopmund

This quaint German influenced town is known as the adventure capital of Namibia where you have the opportunity to sky dive over the desert, or quad bike across the dunes to name but a few. If you don’t like getting your heart racing there are many other great optional activities on offer like scenic flights over the desert or a really in depth tour of the desert in a 4 wheel drive. The town itself boasts a few museums as well.

Day 6
Arrive in Twyfelfontein

Distance: 335 km

Approximate travel time: 5h30

Accommodation: Aba Huab Campsite

Departing Swakopmund we head north to Twyfelfontein where we arrive around lunchtime. After setting up camp on the banks of the Huab river we take a short drive to the rock engravings done by the San people which inhabited this area from over 6000 years ago. Although we will only see a few examples there are believed to be more than 2500 engravings in this area.

Day 7
Arrive in Etosha

Distance: 485 km

Accommodation: Okaukuejo Campsite

Okaukuejo Campsite is situated right inside Etosha national park. We will use this rest camp as a base for our next day’s full game drive inside Etosha. The word Etosha means place of mirages and is home to many different species of large African game like Elephant, Lions, Leopards and Rhinos. This camp is truly magical as there is a floodlit waterhole where you are able to watch many different species come to drink at night

Day 8
Arrive in Etosha

Distance: +-250 km

Approximate travel time: Game drives in park for full day

Meals included: B,L,D

Accommodation: Okaukuejo Campsite

Up and away by day break we make our way into Etosha National Park where we spend the day game driving in our own vehicle trying so see some of the many species of animals that inhabit this park. We stop over on Etosha Pan where you will get a much better idea how vast this dried up lake is. As this is quite a big park we have to drive quite far in search of wildlife.

Day 9
Arrive in Rundu

Distance: 630 km

Approximate travel time: 7h30

Meals included: B,D

Accommodation: Kaisosi river lodge

After breakfast we make our way north to the Caprivi strip and spend the night on the banks of the Kavango river opposite Angola. This is just a transit stop over on our way to the Okavango Delta and we arrive mid-afternoon. You have the option of going a river cruise or just relaxing around the pool.

Day 10
Arrive in Okavango Delta

Distance: 342 km

Approximate travel time: 4h30

Meals included: B,L,D

Accommodation: Guma Lagoon

Today we head into Botswana and cross the border at Mohembo border post and make our way along the western side of the Okavango Delta to Guma lagoon, a lovely lodge on the edge of the Delta for the next 2 evenings. We arrive here at about noon and are taken into the lodge area by 4x4 vehicle to our Campsite.

Day 11
Arrive in Okavango Delta

Distance: 66 km

Accommodation: Guma Lagoon

The Delta is home to many species of wildlife and prolific birdlife that inhabit this unique eco system. Okavango Delta is the only Delta in the world that ends in a desert and not in an ocean. Our day excursion departs from Guma lagoon after breakfast where we are taken by motorboat to what is referred to as a poling station where we will be met by our local guides and taken on a makoro (wooden dug out canoe) to explore some of the waterways and stop over on one of the islands for a game walk and to explore some of the finer details of this vast eco system. 

Day 12
Arrive in Mudumo National Park

Distance: 410 km

Approximate travel time: 5h00

Meals included: B,L,D

Accommodation: Camp Kwando

Leaving the beauty of the Okavango Delta behind we back track the way we entered Botswana and once again exit through Mohembo border post making our way to Camp Kwando on the border of Mudumo National Park in the Caprivi strip. Though this is just a stop-over on the way to Chobe it is possible to to a late game drive here should you feel up to it.

Day 13
Arrive in Chobe

Distance: 240km

Approximate travel time: 3h00

Accommodation: Thebe River Safaris

Departing after breakfast a short drive sees us enter Botswana again and making our way through Chobe to Kasane where our camp is situated. This afternoon we enjoy a river game cruise on the Chobe river where many hippos and elephants call home and have the opportunity to photograph these animals from a boat. 

Day 14
Arrive in Livingstone (Victoria Falls)

Distance: 76 km

Approximate travel time: 2h30

Meals included: B

Accommodation: Waterfront Campsite

Just before day break we are taken into Chobe National Park in an open game drive vehicle for a 3 hour game drive. If we are lucky we might even see some big cats on our last game drive. We enjoy a late breakfast and make our way to Zambia. Today’s border crossing is a bit of an adventure as we use a ferry to cross the border. This is where you will need to buy a visa on the Zambian side. It is recommended here to spend an extra day or 2 should you wish to enjoy some of the many activities on offer. Time permitting we visit Victoria Falls this afternoon or the following morning.

Day 15
Arrive in Livingstone (Victoria Falls)

Our tour ends today where I will either transfer you to the airport or drop you off at a place of your choosing in Livingstone.
